Richardson-Apr-2010.

Johnny Richardson passed away on October 9, 2024, after a long illness.

Johnny graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 1980, and practiced law with Brydon, Swearengen & England P.C. for 44 years.

He practiced in a wide variety of subject areas, including general civil litigation and trial and appellate work for clients. He was a former General Counsel for the State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts; frequently represented physicians and other professionals in licensure; as well as other professionals before the Missouri Board for Architects, Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors. He had been the General Counsel for the Missouri Automobile Dealers Association and the Missouri Automobile Dealers Workers’ Compensation Fund.

Johhny was recognized as a “real” lawyer, in a world of specialization, and the go to person for a second opinion about almost any legal topic. He was highly thought of by those he practiced with and against.

He was a zealous advocate of his clients’ interests, regardless of the legal obstacles they faced and treated his clients as if they were family.  Johnny was mentor to the many young lawyers with whom he worked over the decades, who drew inspiration from his example.

Johnny will be missed.
