BSE attorney Erin Wiseman has passed along the following e-mail from the Federal Court in the Western District of Missouri –
“In the event of a federal government shutdown on October 1, 2013, the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Western District of Missouri will remain open for regular business. The federal judiciary has fee generated reserve funds to remain open for approximately 10 business days even if other agencies shutdown due to a lapse in funding. All proceedings and deadlines will remain in effect as scheduled. Case Management/Electronic Case Filing (CM/ECF) will remain in operation for the electronic filing of documents and the issuance of court orders and opinions. Should this situation change, we will post instructions on our court website (www.mow.uscourts.gov), and we encourage practitioners to check there for updates.”
Erin’s practice includes matters in the Western District Bankruptcy Court of Missouri representing both creditors and debtors in bankruptcy cases.
