From the Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau:

“On Monday, August 21, 2017 Missourians will experience the first and only total solar eclipse of our lifetime and Jefferson City will be a prime viewing location within the path of totality. To prepare for this event and the thousands of visitors expected to travel to the capital city, the Jefferson Convention and Visitors Bureau has teamed up with Missouri State Parks and Daily Plan-it to offer a three day celebration full of art, astronomy and entertainment.

The mission is to facilitate an opportunity for our community to benefit financially, culturally and long-term from the potential attendance attracted to viewing the totality of the August 21 Solar Eclipse. Several community organizations will play a key role in shaping the event’s direction and outcome. Volunteering, sponsorship and vendor opportunities are three ways you can become involved in the Capital Eclipse Celebration.
